Really useful course, really fast as well straight to the point. Also the examples and exercises are well planned to give you an insight on the tool that the instructor is teaching

Diego Abad

This was not my first Adobe Illustrator course but this was the course that made me feel confident in my Illustrator skills and this is where I learned the most when I was a beginner.

After completing the course, I wanted to recommend this to everyone willing to master Adobe Illustrator.

Firstly, I have to admit that Dan is a great instructor to learn from. And I can bet that most of the professional illustrators these days have done this course!

In this course, you’ll start out with getting acquainted with the Illustrator interface, creating a document, and then will begin the real fun. You’ll draw some animals with the basic Illustrator tools including shape tools, line tools, the curvature tool, and even the pen tool!

You’ll be amazed to see that after completing “Drawing in Adobe Illustrator CC” you’ll have mastered most of the basic tools. You’ll also explore a bunch of creative things you can do with the texts and fonts, and shapes

This is a very good course for anyone interested in Adobe Illustrator. Although I do think that the pen tool section could have been better as this tool is something every beginner kind of struggles with.

One of the best things about this course is that you won’t get intimidated by the tools and features. And by the end of the course, you’ll be happy to see that you remember almost everything you learned throughout the course.

So, if you’re interested in learning Adobe Illustrator, then this is the best course for you to start with. I can assure you, like me, like all the thousands of others, you will not regret taking this course!

For me, this is the ultimate place to master Adobe Illustrator. You’ll learn everything from start to end in a very organized way. Although, I ranked it number 2 because I think a little bit of basic knowledge can help you learn faster with this learning path.

The hands-on projects are perfect to master all the tools at a professional level and boost your creativity. From my experience, before attending these classes, I didn’t like the pen tool that much although I loved to use the curvature tool. But after completing the pen tool section, I find working with the pen tools very relaxing!

After completing the beginner’s section, your fundamental base of Adobe Illustrator should be stronger than ever.

The beginner’s section has three courses. In the first course, you’ll get acquainted with the basic Illustrator tools and the user interface

In the next course, you’ll dive deeper into the fundamentals. For instance, you’ll learn to work with shapes and lines in the first course but in the second course, you’ll work with strokes and fills that can take your shapes and lines to a different level. In the last one, you’ll master the pen tool smoother than ever!

In the intermediate section, you’ll combine your fundamental skills with design theories and principles to make great illustrations! This section has 7 courses. Each of them covers a specific topic and everything related to that.

For instance, in one of the courses, you’ll learn everything about the Type tool. In the other courses, you’ll learn to use graphic styles, coloring your artwork, using brushes, etc.

Another great thing about this course track is, if you’re interested in being a Web Designer, there’s a course in the intermediate section that can help you a lot. You’ll learn to create graphics for web and mobile apps, make wireframes, and so on.

In the final section, you’ll learn to use some advanced tools such as blending and using the gradient mesh tool, perspective tool, etc. You’ll also learn how to get your artwork ready for print for various purposes.

If you want to skip the hassles of finding different courses to master Adobe Illustrator, this learning path can be a great option for you. But as I’ve said before, having a tad bit of basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator might turn out to be really helpful.

This course was so jam packed with information, I know I will be able to refer back to it often. I feel that with this one course I learned more about Illustrator than I did in my 4 years of design school. The tools this course has given me are invaluable in my day to day work and personal creations. Thank you so much for creating this!

- Cali Schweder

This was my very first Adobe Illustrator course. And to me, the best thing about this course was that it’s stacked with tons of information.

In this course, you’ll find almost everything in one place. From setting up your workspace and basic tools like pencil tool, shape tools, shape builder tool, to advanced tools like gradient mesh and puppet wrap - you’ll find it all to get started!

For every tool, the instructor will teach you a huge bunch of shortcuts. If you can remember all of them, it’ll be a great help for you to speed up your workflow. As it was my first course, I kind of wrote everything down just so I could take a look at it if I needed anything or if I forgot anything.

But to be honest, things got a little bit overwhelming for me. There was a lot of information to take in and as I was a beginner, it was kind of tough to digest all of it. So, I’d recommend getting a bit acquainted with the Adobe Illustrator software before doing this course.

Apart from that, there’s nothing bad about this course.

You’ll start out with making a simple logo and gradually learn things that are a bit complex like masking, blending, and so on. You’ll be doing a bunch of exercises to master the skills you gain.

And as I’ve said before, there’s so much information to take in. You can come back anytime to certain parts of the course if you forget anything or even if you just need to revise anything.

Not to mention, this course also covers the features of newer versions (2019, 2020, 2021) of Adobe Illustrator. So, regardless of the version you’re using, you shouldn’t be facing any problem.

I just can say that it is an amazing course for all the beginners who want to learn graphic design in illustrator

- Nishes Karki

This is one of the best Adobe Illustrator courses on the internet. The exercises, the explanations- I loved them all!

A great thing about this course is that it’s based upon the 2021 version of Adobe Illustrator. So if you have the latest version of Adobe Illustrator and you’re aspiring to become a graphic designer then this is the course you should be taking.

From my experience, I loved the hands-on projects and exercises. They were something that’ll actually help you for designing templates, banners, and other designing purposes. And to be honest, I loved the exercises in this course more than most other courses.

In this Adobe Illustrator training, you’ll be exploring the basic tools and some advanced tools in a very elaborated way. From shape tools to masking, vectorizing images - you’ll find it all you need to be in the graphic designing industry.

You’ll be exploring the wide range of things you can do with Illustrator. There’s so much to do with fonts and texts

I also loved the pen tool section. I think the instructions were just enough for any beginner to master the pen tool. The exercises were also pretty good.

However, some instructions seemed a bit unclear to me maybe because of the accent but that shouldn’t be a problem in most cases.

Also, if you have an older version of Adobe Illustrator, you might get lost!

Wow! I have been using Illustrator for more than 8 years now. And not as an illustrator or as an Art Director, but as a writer/ creative director. I used it to make visible what I thought about. But after Dan's course, I can convincingly say that my skills with Ai have improved exponentially!

- Yashraj Rege

If you’ve done Dan’s previous course and now that you like his teaching style, then for an advanced course you can go with this.

In this course, you’ll be exploring some advanced features, and tips and tricks of Adobe Illustrator including artboard tricks, gradient mesh, blending, how to make anaglyph texts, mixing colors, some advanced Type tool tricks, and a bunch of cool stuff. You’ll also learn to make animated gifs!

As for me, I really loved the blending and gradient part. Also, if you’re interested in Web UI Design then this course can lead your path to that too!

However, the only problem I had was that sometimes I had trouble figuring which panels or tools he was using. That was mainly because our workspaces were different and so I had to search for some panels and tools. But that was kind of a rare thing to happen. I didn’t have any problem most of the time.

Dan makes learning fun and easy. And just like the beginner’s course, you shouldn’t be facing any problem in this course either.

I've watched countless tutorials on a variety of subjects and this is one of the best YouTube educators I've ever seen.  Kudos, and thank you for making great content!

This course is for those who are complete beginners, need a headstart, and are confused if they should spend money on paid courses.

This is where I found Dan! If you’re not sure whether you should buy Adobe Illustrator CC - Essentials Training Course then you can give this course a try.

Just like Dan’s other courses, you’ll find a handful of exercises in this course. You’ll be making a complete illustration of a penguin which might boost your confidence if you’re a beginner or if you’re finding Illustrator particularly hard to deal with.

After completing this free course, you’d be a fluent user of tools like shape tools, lines, shape builder tool, curvature tool, gradients, and colors, and a few more. But of course, this course doesn’t cover it all although it’s a very good one to start with.

This is by far the best free Adobe Illustrator course available on the internet. And I’m pretty sure that by the end of the course, you’ll be far more confident in your skills and your fear of Adobe Illustrator will be gone forever. You can also check out Free Adobe Illustrator Advanced Tutorial Course. It is the best advanced Adobe Illustrator tutorial on the Internet, also by Dan.

Very interesting to see how to create such amazing illustration from the start to the end. That is what i wanted. It gives the broad picture of what you can do and add in your own illustration.

Before this course, I started to create illustration from my hand-drawn sketch, but it didn`t work. Here I found some useful tips about pathfinder that will help me to move on.

The reason I wanted to keep this particular class on this list is that I wanted people to know that they can go far and beyond with their creativity and imagination with Adobe Illustrator.

In this Skillshare class, you’ll be learning how to sketch using the blob brush tool. I really think that you can create great illustrations using the blob brush tool. You can even customize it according to your needs.

You’ll be drawing a realistic bowling ball and a realistic hand with just the basic shapes and tools.

What I didn’t like about the entire class is that the instructions were not clear at all. Although, if you’re an intermediate or advanced level user of Adobe Illustrator, you shouldn’t have any problem following along.

This could be a more detailed class, which would have been really helpful even for the beginners. But I still believe this class will open a new door of creativity for both the beginners and those who are already grooving with Adobe Illustrator.
